Our Mission:
ahdanco’s mission is to create innovative, profound, and kinesthetically satisfying modern dance that uncovers all that is brilliant and dark within the human psyche. Our work is visually and viscerally stirring, performed with athletic lushness and captivating detail. ahdanco collaborates with local composers, musicians, visual artists, poets, and costumers to create inspirational art and to further strengthen the presence of dance and arts in the community. We strivve to provide our community with high quality art, producing performance and creative opportunities for many different artists of all genres.

History:
Founded in 2002 by Artistic Director Abigail Hosein, ahdanco has successfully become a stable ensemble with an ever growing supportive audience base; five home seasons at Dance Mission Theater; and showings at local festivals including Summerfest, the Julia Morgan Center’s Dance Is Festival, and the Vision Series. Hosein’s work has been commissioned by College Prep High School, Berkeley High School, the Shawl-Anderson Youth Ensemble, and San Francisco Performances’ Dance Mentor Program.
